With more snow coming down today we are left pondering a fortunate decision. On the left we have the prize that Tracy won at a work Christmas party. First off we never win at these events so much so that Tracy had no clue and when she went up to claim her prize she was expecting one of the smaller prizes. So regardless to say we were extremely happy when we found out that it was a 19” Widescreen LCD TV that we won.
Now the picture on the right are skis -obviously- but as I have previously mentioned in another blog this season Tracy and I have only been able to ski once or twice a season due to me being back in school for the past 3 ½ years. Along with this we have not been able to update any of our -now extremely- aging equipment.
We just purchased a new 27” widescreen 2 years ago still in perfect condition and perfect size for our apartment. The 19” could be a good spare when we get a home but that is what the 27” was supposed to be -but the 19” is really thin so it could fit anywhere even wall mounted. But there is no reason to have two TVs.
Then Tracy received the gift receipt for the TV incase we didn’t need one. Ah the wheels start to turn. We both need new skis and bindings but can wait for poles and boots. The TV we won would cover at least one pair of skis and bindings with us putting in the difference for the other pair.

So with a TV that is of no use other then to sit in a box until we get a home why not use it for something fun. Our old skis will be donated to an agency that can use them. With a dilemma like this it just goes to show you how good we really have it.
So the search is on. I have not had the joy of looking for skis for many years now. We had looked into new ones years ago but with the decision to go back to school we stopped as there was no way we could afford all the activities we do and school. Now we just need to win a DVD player to pay for the first lift tickets of the season and all will be good.

Perhaps you should read my blog on consumption and "stuff". Ha! With that said - I am all over the new ski idea.
Hey that was why I said we get ride of something we have no use for i.e. the TV, and get something we do, skis, and donate or give our old ski equipment to someone or some charitable organizations. Everyone wins the environment, a charity (society), and us. Ah justification is great…lol
